WV "Gifts of Hope" : Calling Volunteers

Greetings from World Vision!

We have celebrated yet another fruitful year in FY2007/2008, closing with much blessings. As the beginning of a new fiscal year, we are preparing ourselves for the upcoming activities to advocate and fundraise for the numerous projects World Vision Malaysia is supporting.

Welcoming in the year-end festive seasons, we take great pleasure to once again present the "Gifts of Hope" (GoH) catalogue. With last year's gift catalogue campaign garnered over RM 750,000.00 in donations, we are all thrilled and encouraged to make history again this year. This year, World Vision Malaysia will be channelling the funds raised to Thailand, China, Laos, Lebanon and Sarawak, with an aim to raise RM500,000. Interesting gifts include cows, goats, seeds and fertilizer, water system, playground, food etc.

We would like to invite you once again to help us at the GoH promotional booth. With your upright skills and previous experience, we are confident that we will be able to make the only promotional booth at Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) yet another success.

The booth at BSC will start on the last weekend of November for 4 weekends: -
a) 29 & 30 Nov
b) 6 & 7 Dec
c) 13 & 14 Dec
d) 20 & 21 Dec

Each day will have 2 shifts: -
Morning Shift (10.00am - 4.00pm)
Afternoon Shift (4.00pm - 10.00pm)

Note: -
1) Kindly select the shift(s) you wish to attend to. You are encouraged to select more than 1 shift (please see roster attached - kindly fill in and reply with the form).
2) A training will be conducted on 15 November (Saturday), 9.30am at World Vision Office.
3) Each shift will require 4 volunteers. Kindly report duty at the mall half an hour before your shift starts.
4) Volunteers are required to wear WV t-shirt provided by World Vision. A token of RM10 per shift will be given to each volunteer.

You are also welcome to bring in your friends who may share the same passion in voluntary work. To help you to approach friends who may fit into the work, we hope to have the volunteers of the following criteria: -
- Fluent in English
- Likes to talk to people, not shy
- Persistent
- Has convincing power
- Responsible

I look forward to your reply soon, not later than 7 November 2008. Please do contact me should you require any additional information. Thank You!
